The rich buttery taste mixed with the savory dry ingredients makes this a side dish that is sure to please. I add a little something special that adds a special flavor and people are always asking me what it is. Up until now I never gave it away but this is my blog and well here it is.
I love and I mean LOVE Spinach. This dish takes it to a whole other level. My version uses 3 levels of phyllo pastry also spelled filo or fillo. Seasoned spinach that has the taste and aroma of onions, dill, and feta cheese in between crispy flakiness. One bite and you will be hooked for life. Serve as an excellent appetizer or if you are me 🙂 HAHA You will eat this for dinner. My recipe has been twinked over the years placing it as one of my go to recipes for small and large occasions.
Mostly everyone has had a corn chip of some sort in their day but nothing beats FRESH!!
The fresh crispy goodness and light flavor will make you want to make them again and honestly nothing goes better with homemade salsa or my Fresh Guacamole Dip. Make a lot trust me you will be so sad when they are gone 🙂
This is simple and tastes amazing. Serve this with freshly fried corn chips follow this link Frying Tortilla Chips and you have a dip that will be gone in seconds so make enough!!!! 🙂
This recipe is excellent for large groups but also can be scaled down to easily make this a dinner for two.
Chicken Vesuvius has been in my family for years, handed down from my Great Grandmother, Grandmother, Mother and then into my hands and along the way there has not been one change made to it simply because, why mess around with ABSOLUTE PERFECTION. ☺
I can still smell all these flavors mixing together in the oven on Christmas Eve. Even as I am writing, I can smell the unbelievable aroma this dish leaves on all your senses, mind and heart. It is a flavor you will never forget.
The tastes of Italy are throughout this recipe and I am certain it will become a favorite in your home as well.
